RRB NTPC CBT Exam from December 15

The Railway Recruitment Board is also popular as RRB which is a dream that come true for many job seekers. It’s is already known that the RRB has released the exam dates to conduct the First stage of computer based exam from 15th December 2020 to fill 1.40 lakhs posts. The exam dates were announced by the Railway Board Chairman Vin K Yadav.

Yadav also said that “The computer based exam will begin from December 15 for 3 categories of Posts and complete details will be announced soon.” 

It is already evident that the NEET (UG) and JEE (Mains) 2020 examinations were postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and now the Railway recruitment process will start.

There are 3 types of vacancies the chairman of Railways announced earlier. These are listed below:

  • Non-technical popular categories (NYPC) of about 35208 posts they are like guards, office clerks, commercial clerks and others.
  • There are isolated & ministerial categories of about 1663 posts these include steno & teachers.
  • There are level-one vacancies of about 1,03,769 for track maintainers & Pointsman.

The above vacancies the RRB had received more than 2.40 Crore applications.

The CBT for above vacancies had to be deferred due to Covid-19 pandemic as from 25 March the lockdown started in the country.

Yadav said that applications for recruitment in various categories for 140640 posts were notified in the pre-Covid period. Scrutiny of these applications was completed and kept hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the computer based examination is yet to be completed. 

Railway Recruitment Board are committed to hold the Computer Based Test for all the notified vacancies & have been actively assessing the Covid-19 pandemic situations & the grounds imposed due to the Covid-19.

The Travel Minister also said that Sops were made to conduct the examination with norms of social distancing & other protocols which are prescribed by the Central & State authorities which are needed for the safety of the candidates.
